Early Life
Tom Holland was born on the 1st of June 1996 in Kingston upon Thames, London. His mother is a photographer and his father is an author and comedian.
He was schooled at Donhead, a Catholic prep school in Wimbledon. Tom then attended Wimbledon College. He later went to The BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in Croydon.
Tom also briefly went to a carpentry school in Cardiff.
Career
Theater
Tom Holland’s career began in theater. He was a dancer at a hip-hop class at Nifty Feet Dance School and was spotted by a choreographer.
He eventually made his debut at West End in the show Billy Elliot the Musical. His first performance was on the 8th of September 2008. Apart from that, he was also invited on channel FIVE to give an interview and was later featured in the show The Feel Good Factor.
In 2010, Tom was also invited to meet the former PM, Gordon Brown. He played the lead at the fifth anniversary of Billy Elliot the Musical.
Television and Movies
Tom also appeared on TV a couple of times, including in the series Wolf Hall and on Lip Sync Battle with Zendaya. He performed Rihanna’s song Umbrella.
He began his voice-acting career in 2011 when he voice acted in the animated movie Arrietty.
Tom Holland then made his feature film debut in the movie The Impossible which was a disaster film about the tsunami that happened in 2004. He won several awards for it, including the Young British Performer of the Year award under the London Film Critics Circle.
Holland also acted in movies, which include How I Live Now (with Saoirse Ronan), In the Heart of the Sea (with Chris Hemsworth) and Locke (with Tom Hardy).
