Katy Perry (real name Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson) was born on the 25th of October 1948 in Santa Barbara, California. She is of English, Irish, German and Portuguese ancestry.
Katy is also the niece of a film director Frank Perry. She moved a lot as a child because her parents were going around setting up churches. She attended several schools including Paradise Valley Christian School.
Katy already began training at the age of 9 and entered her parents’ ministry to sing in church until she turned 17. She received her first guitar when she was 13 and started performing the songs that she wrote.
