Early Life
Eva Longoria was born on the 15th of March 1975 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She initially did not speak Spanish growing up, until in 2009. Eva was also raised as a Catholic.
During her schooling years, she first worked part time for Wendy’s to earn money for her 15th birthday celebration.
Eva later attended Texas A&M University-Kingsville where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology. In 1998, she also won the Miss Corpus Christi USA title.
After she graduated, she went for a talent contest and was spotted and signed by a theatrical agent. Eva also worked as a headhunter for about 4 years while waiting to get a role.
In 2013, she received a master’s degree in Chicano Studies from California State University.
Career
Eva Longoria’s debut television role was in 1999 after she met Gary Ghiaey in LA. She then guested in the popular Beverly Hills, 90210. Apart from that, she also guest-starred in the show General Hospital, a medical drama.
That was when she had her big break as she landed a role on The Young and the Restless. She was well known as Isabella in the show.
Desperate Housewives
Possibly her biggest career breakthrough so far came in 2003 when she was cast as Gabrielle in Desperate Housewives, alongside Marcia Cross, Felicity Huffman and Teri Hatcher.
In 2006, she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award together with her co-stars for Desperate Housewives. She also received the ALMA Award and was named as the entertainer of the year.
When she was still with the show, Eva also acted in the movie The Sentinel which was her 1st major role.
She was also active in magazines and appeared on many including in FHM, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and Marie Claire. Eva was named one of the Sexiest Women of 2008 by FHM and one of the Most Beautiful People by People en Espanol.
