Early Life
David was born on the 17th of August 1973 and is the youngest in his family. He is of Swedish, German and Norwegian descent.
David Bromstad schooled at Wayzata High School and during his time there, he decided to pursue a career in Disney animation. He then attended Ringling College of Art and Design in Florida.
After he graduated, he worked as a Disney illustrator first.
Career
David Bromstad initially began as a Disney illustrator but was put on leave, and later started his own company Bromstad Studio. The company was to design fantasy bedrooms for kids.
However, he later moved to Miami Beach and tried out for HGTV’s Design Star which was a reality show. He eventually won the competition and received a car as the grand prize.
David also received a chance to host his own show, and that was when he did Color Splash. He also contributes at HGTV’s blog.
In 2008, David became a spokesman for Mythic Paint.
David has three main shows, HGTV Design Star, HGTV’s Beach Flip and My Lottery Dream Home.
He also has a home furniture and accessories line which is on Grandin Road, owned by Home Shopping Network.
